PASSING OVER OPPORTUNITY REPEATEDLY (POOR)
Years ago while in college, a young man invited five of his friends to a meeting in his room about an idea that would revolutionize the world. Only two of the five friends went for the meeting and they are the better for it for it. The young man who called for the meeting was Mark Zuckerberg and the idea was facebook with two if his friends becoming double digit billionaires while the remaining three are still poor or just over broke.
Another young Harvard drop out approached a friend of his to borrow him two hundred dollars for an idea which he wanted to invest in, the friend simply rebuked and walked away remaining in poverty but the next person he approached called him names but used a different approach. He gave him the money on two conditions and the first was that if the idea failed he would simply refund his money but if it succeeded he would have a percentage of it. The young with the idea was William Gates popularly called 'Bill Gates' and the friend whom he borrowed the money from was Paul Allen who is a double digit billionaire and shareholder in Microsoft
I know of a man who complained about his finances frequently and when I suggested a couple of ideas to him, he waved them away and is still living in abject poverty complaining about every dime spent on money here and there barely making ends meet.
Someone said that, 'Poverty is not absence of treasures but ignorance of their existence' I humorously added that 'A poor man is simply a potential rich man passing over opportunities repeatedly. Friends there are boundless opportunities just waiting for you to discover them but you can't see them with your naked eyes but the eyes of the mind.

5 SHORT CUTS TO SUCCESS
For people looking for short cuts to success listen up and listen good to these four and powerful tips
1 Know that there is no short cut to success for many of those people you believe are overnight successes in reality took many nights to get there. There is no short cut, it is the hard way, the only way.
2 Learn from the success of others for a wise man said that to know the road ahead, ask those coming back. If you must take a 'short cut' to success be a leader of those who have succeeded before you and some examples are Eddie Murphy who learned from Gregory Hines who learned from Bill Cosby who learned from a man called Dexter. Also there is two time World Footballer of the Year, Ronaldinho learned from Austin 'Jay Jay' Okocha while Samuel Etoo learned from the Camerounian legend, Roger Miller. Nobody cares who makes the original, everyone cares about who made the best.
3 Ask others for help instead of trying to do it by yourself and you will succeed a lot faster than you think for people will only support what they help to create
4 Celebrate the success of others rather than being jealous and you will the next person in line to succeed an example is when someone is dedicating a house or a car, sow a seed into the person's life and watch what happens. Jealousy will only hinder you but will make you believe you are hindering others in other words jealousy is believing others got what you deserved
5 Help others succeed and others will help you succeed. When you help others up the ladder you increase the rate of your own success. I will use my case as an example, two years ago one of my proteges caught the blog bug wanting to be part of the fever, I never discouraged her but gave her my tacit support spending energy time and money also connecting her to my web designer who created her site. Today it is a success story as www.bbworldmagazine.com is kicking and from her success comes this blog which you are all reading from. My protege told me that if I had told her not to do the blog, she would have buried the idea and that would have been that so there you are the five short cuts to sure success

SUCCESS CAN MAKE YOU A FAILURE
Robert Greene was so precise when he 47th Law of Power' Don't Go Beyond The Mark In Victory' know when to stop for the moment of victory is also the moment of peril. Truly one's success can make one a failure especially with the perks it brings like fame, fortune and popularity. Iron Mike Tyson had it all going for him, a young African male from the ghetto who suddenly found himself on top of the world catching the attention of boxing promoter, Don King. He was riding high on his new found fame and began sowing wild oats which cost him a divorce, eventual defeat by Buster Douglas and then a prison sentence which he got seven years but was set free after three years for good behaviour. Even after his release and return to boxing, he was never the man he used to be as complacency set in and another defeat by Evander Hollyfield whose ear he bit during the match. A wise man said that, 'Adversity reveals a genius but prosperity conceals him'
Marion Jones was the queen of the tracks breaking old records and setting new ones, in the year 2000 she set a goal of five gold medals and though she did not hit the target, she won three gold medals and two bronze and then the bubble burst, after denying allegations of using performing enhancing drugs she broke down and confessed to which she was stripped of all her medals and went to jail for six months and starting a new life as a player in the WNBA. It is easier to become successful than to remain successful. The same fate befell the Zambian National Team who after winning the African Cup of Nations started bragging that they feared none of the big teams, they were the first African Champions in the 21 year history of the tournament to lose out in the first round without winning a single match. So when you are on the pinnacle of success be careful for one slip can cost you.

SETBACKS- A DEAD END OR A NEW BEGINNING
What do you call a setback, a dead end or a new beginning? That to to a great extent will prove how one views life. A setback could be a beginning if you view it as a beginning.
Carlo Ancelloti had just been sacked by the board of Chelsea FC everyone thought it was the end but not this great Italaian tactician who was signed by PSG and from nobody he became a celebrity as he won the French Ligue 1 Trophy, the next season was even more glorious as he took on the challenge of coaching the Galacticos and proved to naysayers that his achievement in France was no flash in the pan or fluke as he won the Copa Del Rey and UEFA Champions League all in one season. At the start of a new season he won the UEFA Super Cup, how about that?
In the year 1996, the world received with shock the news of Olympic Gold Medalist Nwankwo Kanu's heart condition. One particularl newspaper splashed in its headlines' It's All Over For Kanu' and instead of accepting defeat, he went for a heart surgery and came back stronger than before scoring goals and becoming African Footballer of the year that same year and three years after. Ironically the newspaper that thought it over for him has folded up. And as a result he is one of Africa's most decorated footballers after Samuel Eto of Cameroun
Chioma Ajunwa, turned her setback of being accused of using drugs to a comeback as she became the first Nigerian ever to win a gold medal at the Atlanta Olympics Her former shame was turned into fame. So I ask you again what is a setback to you, a dead end or a new beginning.

4 REASONS WHY WE NEED ENEMIES TO SUCCEED
1 An enemy gives us a sense of focus one important ingredient to succeed. Before the Nigeria vs. South Africa match in the African Cup of Nations in the year 2000, the coach of the Super Eagles Johannes Bonfre told Tijani Babangida to play on the left which seemed like a dumb instruction for he was a right footed player but at the end of the match, it was smiles because Tijani scored the two goals that won the match and one of the goals was scored forty-five seconds after the blast of the whistle to begin the game. The reason for the victory was created by the coach focusing on the weakness of one of the defenders that could use his right leg but not his left leg. An enemy can help us focus on where to focus in our lives.
2 An enemy will give to us in one day what our family and friends can't give us in a lifetime. Not one of Evander Holyfield's friends or family could give him one million dollars but it took an enemy in Mike Tyson who offered not one or two million but thirty million dollars just for a fight
3 An enemy helps us to be vigilant. When we are with friends we are comfortable yet when we are in the midst of our enemies we apply the most extreme level of caution a reason why soldiers are most careful when crossing enemy lines. After being shot nine times outside the home of his grandparents, Fifty-Cent was more vigilant than ever knowing that those that shot him might come back to finish off the job.
4 An enemy gives us a sense of self importance. To be kicked from behind means that one is out in front and as Plies said in his song' You ain't doing nothing right till you get them hating' An enemy does not attack anybody who is not important. So next time you face an attack the enemy is simply telling you that you are much too important to escape my notice.

BE POSITIVE

8 WAYS A FOOL CAN HELP YOU SUCCEED
Can a fool help you succeed? The answer to that controversial question is a big YES if you will let them. A wise man said, ' I learn from two groups of people from the wise and from the foolish, I learn from the wise to be wiser and I learn from the foolish not to be foolish'. Mark Twain said, 'Let us thank God for fools if not most of us would not have been wise'. Here are eight ways you can be helped up the ladder of success by a fool
1. Fools talk before they think which usually gets them into trouble making them lots of enemies, the lesson is to think before you talk for your words will determine whether you are wise or foolish.
2 Fools waste time on trivial things, the lesson is to invest your time wisely for the use of your time will determine one's financial destiny. The rich spend money to save them time, the poor waste time to save money. I have never seen a rich man who is not conscious of his time, I have not seen a poor man who is.
3 A fool makes everyone his friend, a wise man is careful of his choice of friends because where a man or woman will be in five years will be determined by the books he or she reads and the company he or she keeps. Friends are like the buttons on an elevator that takes us up or brings us down.
4 A fool always believes he or she is right but a wise man or woman believes that he or she may wrong on certain issues.
5 A fool has no goals, targets or priorities, but a wise man sets targets for himself for a missed target set is better than no target at all. Living without a goal makes one drift about like a goat
6 A fool is envious about the success of others, if you must succeed respect the accomplishments of others for what you respect is what you will attract. You can never learn from someone you envy or resent but one you admire.
7 A fool desires everything but is not ready to pay any price, the lesson to be learned that nothing of value is ever free. For every prize in life there is a price to be paid even freedom is not free.
8 A fool does not pursue worthy counsel, if you must succeed you need the help of other creative and matured minds for no man makes it alone.

THE PERSISTENCE POEM
When things go wrong as they sometimes will
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill
When the funds are low, and the debts are high
And you want to smile, but have to sigh;
When care is pressing you down a bit
Rest if you must, but do not quit
Success is failure turned inside out
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt
And you can never tell how close you are
It maybe near when it seems so far
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit
It's when things go wrong that you must not quit
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill
When the funds are low, and the debts are high
And you want to smile, but have to sigh;
When care is pressing you down a bit
Rest if you must, but do not quit
Success is failure turned inside out

And you can never tell how close you are
It maybe near when it seems so far
